BPSC Stenographer Exam 2026 Postponed
The Bihar Public Service Commission has officially postponed the Stenographer Exam 2026.
Earlier scheduled for May 9, 2026, the examination will now be conducted on June 11, 2026 (Thursday). The commission cited administrative reasons for rescheduling the exam.

Vacancy Details
The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 15 posts across categories:
- Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 7
- Scheduled Caste (SC): 1
- Scheduled Tribe (ST): 2
- Other Backward Classes (OBC): 3
- Backward Classes (BC): 2
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board
- Must possess stenography skills in Hindi and English
- Basic computer knowledge is mandatory
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age:
- 37 years: General (Male), BC/EBC (Male & Female)
- 40 years: General (Female)
- 42 years: SC/ST (Male & Female)
Pay Scale
Selected candidates will be paid under Level IV pay scale, ranging from:
- ₹25,500 to ₹81,100
Selection Process
The selection process includes:
- Written Examination
- Practical Test (Skill Test)
Final selection will depend on performance in both stages.
Exam Pattern
The written examination will be objective (MCQ-based):
- Total Questions: 150
- Total Marks: 600
- Marks per Question: 4
- Negative Marking: -1 for each wrong answer
- Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes
