Karnataka SSLC Result 2026: 7 Students Score Perfect 625/625
The Karnataka School Examinations and Assessment Board has announced the SSLC Result 2026, with a remarkable performance by students across the state.
A total of seven students have secured a perfect score of 625 out of 625, emerging as joint toppers in this year’s Class 10 board examinations.
Government School Student Sets Benchmark
One of the most notable highlights is the achievement of Prarthana Nagappa Biradar Patil, a government school student from Athani.
Her performance challenges the long-held perception that only private school students dominate top ranks. This result reinforces the growing academic strength of government schools in Karnataka.
List of Top Scorers
Along with Prarthana, other toppers include:

- Bharat (Davangere)
- Preetham (Udupi)
- Dhanush (Bengaluru North)
- Soujanya Basavaraj Kandakur (Vijayapura)
All these students scored 625/625, securing the top position in the state.
Soujanya, a student from Vijayapura, also gained attention for her performance despite discussions around third language evaluation.
Strong Performance Across Categories
The 2026 SSLC results reflect several key trends:
- Girls have outperformed boys once again
- Pass percentage has significantly improved
- Government school results crossed 93%
- Rural regions showed strong academic growth
The overall improvement indicates focused efforts by the education department, especially in North Karnataka.
Third Language Concern and Policy Debate
A major concern highlighted this year is the third language subject, where around 17,000 students reportedly failed.
The state had earlier considered introducing a grading system to reduce failure rates, particularly in rural areas where many students struggle with languages like Hindi. However, due to regulatory constraints, the existing marks-based system was retained.
Authorities have clarified that students who failed in the third language will not be required to pay exam fees for reattempts.
Minister’s Message to Students
Education authorities have urged students not to lose confidence due to low scores or failure.
Students were advised:
- Not to take excessive pressure
- Focus on future opportunities
- Prepare again and improve performance
Officials also confirmed that meetings are being held to plan support measures and re-examination strategies for unsuccessful candidates.
Toppers Share Preparation Strategy
Topper Soujanya shared insights into her preparation approach:
- Completion of syllabus early
- Practice through previous year question papers
- Regular doubt-solving sessions with teachers
- Balanced study routine with scheduled breaks
She credited both school support (50%) and personal effort (50%) for her success.
What’s Next for Toppers
Most toppers, including Soujanya, have expressed interest in pursuing Science stream for higher studies, keeping future career options open.
